Batik t-shirts are enjoying a real renaissance
Clothing with batik patterns became especially popular back in the 60s, so some people may associate it with something mainly worn by hippies, but that's no longer the case! Batik is a method of pattern-dyeing fabrics using a wax coating, and it works by applying wax to the fabric in the areas where you don't want the material to be dyed. However, the dye still seeps into the small cracks in the wax and forms the beautiful network of veins that is characteristic of batik.
