It’s November again, and of course that means ‘Black Friday’ later this month. To be more precise, the day always falls on the fourth Friday in November, and this year it’s 29 November 2019. This Friday, various shops and online retailers will be slashing prices to rock-bottom levels, giving you the chance to shop at absolutely mad prices. Are you ready for the biggest shopping day of the year?
At TEESHOPPEN, we’ve been looking forward to this day for months, as it gives us the chance to offer our customers some fantastic discounts on our products. We love making our customers happy, which is also why we spend a great deal of time planning a day like ‘Black Friday’. When you work for an online shop like TEESHOPPEN, it’s the event of the year, so we want to go the extra mile for our customers – after all, Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year!
Below, we’ve put together our top 10 tips for the best shopping experience on Black Friday in 2021.
1. Start planning early
The key to a successful Black Friday is to start planning early. You may have several online shops you want to buy from throughout the day, so it’s a good idea to visit the websites the day before, as most shops publish their offers before Black Friday – that way, you’ll be prepared for what’s in store.
Next, identify the websites that are your top priority and put them at the top of your list – you might want to bookmark them so you can quickly access them once the sale kicks off. Be prepared for what you’d like to buy on the day – is it something for yourself, or is Black Friday the day you’ll start your Christmas shopping, so your friends and family can get a slightly bigger present because you can get more for your money?

2. Do your research
One of the most important pieces of advice is to have your research sorted before the day kicks off. On the day itself, you won’t have time to get an overview of the many offers, and you might risk missing out on some great products that you’ll later regret not buying. Or you might end up buying something you’ll later regret, as it all happens so quickly.
Start your research a few days beforehand by visiting the websites that are relevant to you. Get an idea of what you might buy so you can act quickly. You could make a shopping list of the items you want to buy, so you have a simple and clear overview of what you’re planning to purchase. On the TeeShop website, you could make a note of the product names of the items you’d like to buy, so you only need to use the handy search function when you need to find them again on the day. That way, you can be more efficient and ensure that you can quickly and easily get hold of the items you want before they might sell out.

3. Create an account in advance
On most websites, you can register as a customer in advance without necessarily having to buy anything. By creating a customer account for the online shop in advance, you won’t need to spend time doing this on the day itself, and you’ll therefore be able to complete your purchase much more quickly.
When you register as a customer at TEESHOPPEN, you can save your delivery address, making it easy to complete your order when you’re in a hurry. You’ll also be able to log in later to view and track your order. Due to the high level of interest, there is a great deal of traffic on the Black Friday websites, so it’s in your best interests to be able to navigate the site as quickly as possible to avoid being held up by a very slow website.
4. Sign up for newsletters
Some retailers offer special discounts to customers who subscribe to their newsletters – perhaps even ‘early-bird specials’. It’s therefore important that you sign up for the newsletters that are relevant to you, so that you might have the chance to access some discounts before everyone else; which is why it’s also a good idea to sign up a couple of weeks in advance. That way, you’ll ensure you’re one of the first to find out about the discounts and great offers arriving in shops and on various online stores.
Keep an eye on your email both in the run-up to the day and on the day itself, so you don’t miss a thing!

5. Get social
Make sure you follow all the online shops or high-street shops you’d like to shop at on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and so on, so you don’t miss out on great offers or discounts that might pop up during the day. It’s a good idea to tap ‘See First’ under the ‘Follow’ button on the retailers’ Facebook pages – that way, you can be sure that posts from them will appear in your news feed first. On Instagram, under the relevant profile, you can also tap the three small dots in the top right-hand corner and select ‘Turn on post notifications’ – this way, you’ll receive a notification every time something is posted on the profile.
You’re also welcome to sign up for relevant Black Friday events on Facebook, as ‘special deals’ may be hidden here too, which are only released to those who sign up for the event. And, of course, posts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media are also the way to go when you want to share the best Black Friday deals with your friends.

6. Shop early in the day
Most retailers don’t have endless stocks, so if you want to be sure of snapping up your must-have items, make sure you do your Black Friday shopping early in the day. Some retailers might even release their discount codes at midnight the day before or run ‘early bird’ specials the evening before. It’s important, of course, that you’re signed up to various newsletters so you don’t miss out on potential offers that start as early as the day before.
Make your Black Friday purchases early in the day to ensure that the items you’ve planned to buy aren’t sold out by the time you log on to the website later in the day.

7. Think long-term
What events do you have coming up in the next few months? Perhaps you’ve got lots of Christmas parties in December, and then of course there’s Christmas Eve and a New Year’s Eve party to organise – and for all these events, you’ll naturally need some new clothes. You were planning to go out and buy some new outfits anyway, so why not do it now at Black Friday, where you might be able to get your purchase for much less than if you wait until mid-December. So start thinking now about what you’d like to wear to that brilliant Christmas lunch with friends, that cosy Christmas Eve with the family, and what you’d like to ring in the New Year in.
It’s definitely worth getting a head start on those slightly smarter outfits for Christmas and New Year – you could end up saving a lot of money.

8. Buy your Christmas presents at Black Friday
Start collecting all the wish lists from your friends and family right now, so you have a clear overview of what everyone wants. Find the gifts you’d like to give and write them down on a list, so you have a clear overview of which Christmas presents you need to buy for Black Friday.
Start collecting wish lists from your friends and family now, so you can efficiently plan what you need to buy and where to buy them. That way, you can give your friends and family exactly what they want at lower prices than you’ll be able to get them later in December.

9. Set a budget
Black Friday may well be this huge price bonanza where retailers slash their prices to absolutely crazy lows, but it’s also easy to get carried away by all the great deals and suddenly find yourself spending a whole lot of money you hadn’t planned on spending at all.
So set a budget for your Black Friday purchases, so you don’t end up buying three Christmas presents for one person and none for another – and then have absolutely no money left to treat yourself! That’s just not on! So get an overview in advance of how much money you can spend on the day, and what you’re going to spend it on.
Planning is key!

10. Have fun!
Black Friday It should, of course, be a day of celebration! Both as a consumer and as a retailer.
